Mark August 26 on your calendars, folks. That’s International Dog Day, founded in 2004 to encourage the adoption of shelter dogs and celebrate everything about humanity’s erstwhile canine companions. And really, there’s a lot to celebrate.
Because dogs are wonderful. That’s an indisputable fact. In addition to giving your own dog an extra treat or belly rub, why not sport a shirt that lets everyone know exactly how you feel?
We’ve included a few examples below – buy one if it catches your eye, or check out our Design Studio to make one for yourself!
1. Makes Sense. Dogs are Better Than People, Anyway
They’re happier, more lovable, and they don’t freak out when you try to pet them.
2. An Important PSA
The dog probably did something to merit a hug. After all, it’s a dog.
3. Boundaries are Important
Sometimes you’ve just gotta put your foot down. Especially about something so essential.
4. We Just Thought This One Looked Cool
There’s not a lot else to say, really.
5. An Offer You Can’t Refuse
You’ve got to admit, it’s a pretty decent pun.
6. Again. People Suck.
But dogs don’t. They’re wonderful. And as an aside, anyone who doesn’t like dogs probably shouldn’t be trusted.
7. Good Things to Wish For
What’s better than a night in with wine? A night in with wine and a dog.
8. Which Type Are You?
If you’re the former, good on you. If you’re the latter, we’re afraid that’s a deal-breaker.
9. Is There Any Better Reason?
That’s a genuine question. We legitimately can’t think of a better justification for going or being anywhere.
10. The Perfect Party Shirt
Saves you from having to say those words all the time, too!
11. Pugs
Simultaneously the ugliest and cutest dogs in existence.
12. True Love
Because there’s no relationship that’s purer than that between a dog and its master.
13. Words to Live By
A boyfriend is temporary and fleeting. The love of a good boy (or girl) is eternal.
14. Seems Legitimate to Us
We trust doctors, and we love dogs. Combining the two seems like a winning proposition, right?
15. It’s Kind of Like A Drill Sergeant Voice, But Sterner
Training a dog can often seem like an exercise in futility – which is why we have the utmost respect for professional dog trainers.
