There’s an old saying we like to call to mind sometimes — if you don’t stand for something, then you stand for nothing. In our mind, that applies to branding just as much as it does one’s personal life. A brand without values is, in our mind, a brand without merit.
That’s why at BlueCotton, we’ve always been driven by a few core values, ever since our business was just a nascent idea in the minds of two struggling college grads. These values guide and define everything we do, from the clients we work with to the product we sell. Today, we’re going to talk a bit more about what those values are and how they inspire us.
Your Happiness is Our Happiness
Plenty of people talk about how providing a positive customer experience is at the core of any successful business. And while that’s undoubtedly true, it isn’t why we care. One of the reasons we built BlueCotton in the first place is because we love making people happy.
We want our customers to love the experience of ordering and receiving custom shirts as much as we love the process of running our business — we want to share our passion with our clientele.
Integrity and Character Above All
As anyone who’s grown a business beyond its early stages knows full well, it becomes easier and easier to sacrifice one’s integrity with each passing day. Maybe there’s a client that does something you don’t quite agree with, but you stay silent because the money is good. Perhaps you cut corners you know you shouldn’t, simply because it makes business sense.
BlueCotton refuses to do that. We remember where we came from, and we fully intend to hold onto that as long as the business exists.
Focus on the Bottom Line
Plenty of businesses and brands focus more on short-term profits than on long-term success. It’s something that’s always confused us. If you know a decision or expense will eventually result in higher profits and greater success, you should pursue it.
The long-term bottom line is what matters, and it’s how a business truly grows.
Create A Sense of Togetherness
It would be accurate to say that BlueCotton is community-driven. We love working with charitable organizations and not-for-profits, we’re active in our community, and we believe in social and fiscal responsibility. As a global business, it’s within our reach to change the world.
And we intend to.
Nurture a Fun, Family Atmosphere
When BlueCotton first started, it was run entirely by family and close friends. We’ve gotten a bit bigger since then, but we’ve made an effort not to lose that sense of closeness and camaraderie. We believe that our employees should love their work as much as we love ours — a big part of making that possible involves helping them feel like they’re a part of our family.
